Chofu International Music Festival (CIMF) is an annual classical music festival held early summer in Chofu City, Tokyo. Led by musician Masato Suzuki, the festival has been loved for its combination of handmade sensibility and high artistry.
The festival started in 2013 under the name of “Chofu Music Festival" and was renamed "Chofu International Music Festival" in 2017, and the festival has been growing with more concerts and audience each year. However, in 2020, the year for the eighth season of the festival, all performances had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19.
However, with the great help of crowdfunding, the festival is realized online with a new name “@Chofu International Music Festival”. Thank you so much for the support!
Have you seen some animals coming to play here and there on our website? They are the symbolic characters of CIMF created by woodblock artist Sara, the artist in residence of CIMF. The animals love music and came out of the Chofu Forest to join our festival! This year, we have a new lion in the family… Wait, he looks like a famous composer, doesn’t he?
